ENO Baylis is the Education, Community and Outreach team at ENO, established in 1985 and named after Lillian Baylis, ENO's founder.  The department runs a wide-ranging programme of events and projects from its base at the London Coliseum, aimed at schools, community groups and individuals of all ages from a wide range of economic and cultural backgrounds.  ENO Baylis aims to:

ENO Baylis works with schools and teachers, community and disability groups, young artists and with new and existing audiences at the Coliseum, in inner and outer London and the South East.  The department regularly commissions new work for youth groups, schools and community groups.  Projects are managed by core staff involving freelance and ENO artists.

I can't emphasise enough what a positive experience this has been for me -- a chance to really grow musically, whilst being asked for nothing more than my willingness and commitment to the project.  I feel inspired by the ENO Baylis team and look forward to the next project.  This is the best use of public funding I have come across.
