Founded in 1995, by director Suzy Willson and composer Paul Clark, the Clod Ensemble is a small-scale touring company which aims to present innovative, highly visual and truly integrated contemporary music theatre. Its repertory has included newly commissioned pieces such as Greed, Double Agency and Kiss My Echo and music in a theatrical setting such The Silver Swan, two 17th Century songs by John Smith and William Lawes woven together for seven unaccompanied female choral singers.
The company also undertakes a wide range of education and community projects for people in music, theatre, movement, and non-verbal communication skills for a wide range of people - musicians, actors, school teachers, and students.
The Clod Ensemble is one of those highly inventive and anarchic companies
thrusting its way through traditional boundaries of drama.
