Hatstand Opera have been touring for over ten years across the UK to packed audiences in village halls, castles, National Trust properties, art galleries and theatres alike. With a 'go-anywhere' policy, Hatstand have sung at the Liberation Celebrations in Guernsey, at Belton House with the City of London Sinfonia for 7000 people in the open air, for conference dinners, Christmas concerts and charity galas from Aberystwyth to Wick, the Barbican Centre, even on the same bill as Julio Iglesias in a vineyard in Western Australia! Expanding education work includes workshops for ages 5 upwards, culminating in either a showing of work or fully staged public performances with Hatstand Opera.
Hatstand descended from the stage to astonish and flirt with members of
the audience, taking the difficulties of navigating around closely placed
tables in their stride as they delivered tongue-twisting patter songs or
liquid cascades of perfectly modulated notes.
